DOG DAYS OF SUMMER

“Who let the dogs out?” - Baha Men

“The average dog is a nicer person than the average person” Andy Rooney

This exhibit’s theme is ‘Dog Days of Summer!’ The phrase “dog days of summer” actually has nothing to do with man’s best friend. It turns out that the ancient Greeks and Romans weren’t referring to real dogs, but to the great astronomical one, Sirius. The “Dog Star” known as the Greater Dog, is the brightest star that shines at night. What does the star Sirius have to do with the “dog days of summer”? According to the Farmer’s Almanac, during summer months Sirius is extraordinarily extra bright!

My parents and Megan adopted Oli together when she first moved in with them Summer of 2014 and boy did that little dog bring the 3 of them together, and add so much life to that household.

“Such short little lives our pets have to spend with us, and they spend most of it waiting for us to come home each day. It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them.” John Grogan

Enjoy the new exhibit and all the new beautiful prints. Happy Summer and love to all our dogs (and pets!)

Thank you, everyone, for your overwhelming love and support to my family and me on my dad’s passing. We tragically lost my dad on April 4th at 11:22 am in Glendale, AZ. He had not been ill but declined super rapidly in his last days. We are so sad without him.

My dad lived a very full life. His energy and love for life always lit up any room. One could not be with him and not have a smile on their face. His optimism and positivity were magnetic, and he touched the lives of so many. He was the smartest most creative man I know. He always strived to be more and learn more and soak it all in. My dad and I shared a love for art and architecture and aesthetics. We connected over this. He blew me away honestly every time he painted something I’d ask him to paint. He was so talented. He was my inspiration to study and work in interior design and help make things beautiful for people. I miss him so much.
