Our Founders

This brand and its website are the creation of Daniel’s daughter, Sharon. Daniel’s beautiful hand-painted artwork and its distinct color palette are the heart of this brand. This website is an avenue to reach out into our community to enrich your lives through the joy these beautiful paintings bring us.

Daniel Altman (architect, builder, developer, and artist living in Berkeley, CA,) and Sharon Davis, daughter (interior designer living in Scottsdale, AZ.)

Our Vision

Our Vision is to help make your world a little more colorful. My dad’s art is absolute magic and I am so excited to share it with you. I’m releasing a new exhibit every couple of months featuring new themes and new ideas. We have big ideas of where we want to go and we hope that you follow along with us.

My dad’s art always makes me so happy. I feel so lucky to have it a part of my life and hope it does the same for you!

Our Brand

This site will be an ongoing and growing virtual art gallery featuring decades of Daniel’s original art - sketches, watercolors, and oil paintings he has created through studio sessions and Plein Air, locally and traveling throughout the world.

The gallery will be presented through themed exhibits of collections from over the years mixed in with newer pieces. The exhibits will display artwork pieces that work well together and tie to a general theme.

My dad lives in the Bay Area and is a UC Berkeley graduate. Both he and my mom are Cal Alumni (where they met!) Many of the art pieces are paintings of Berkeley, San Francisco, and the Bay Area. He paints in his office/studio at home mostly now, since the pandemic, but also has a studio in the Firehouse Studios on Gilman in Berkeley. He has been participating in Art classes for years, decades, with Anthony Holdsworth along with Plein Air classes, and Figure Classes at Berkeley, and has traveled all over the world with painting groups. My dad has traveled all over Europe on Plein Air trips from Venice, Lake Como, Florence, Italy, Amsterdam, Paris, and the South of France. My daughter Lizzie works and lives in New York City.  We have quite a bit of art featuring NYC. My older daughter, Megan lives with my Dad and Mom in Berkeley and works with animals, volunteers with the Oakland Zoo Conservation, and has traveled to Guatemala and Africa for animal conservation. My dad has quite a bit of animal art as well that he has painted more recently and will be a part of each exhibit theme.

Prints

We will be selling Limited Edition Prints!

Each themed exhibit will have a few paintings to feature as Prints!

The prints are high quality, limited-edition signed and numbered prints of original artwork, printed in Archival Pigment on rag heavyweight paper with a 1” white border.

Prints will be available for purchase through this site on a first-come, first-serve basis and then will be archived.

(My goal is to partner each print with a local organization, related to its subject, in which to give back. Proceeds from each print’s sale profits will be donated back into our community through these organizations. (This is a future goal and will begin in late Spring/Summer. Stay tuned.)

I am so excited about this outreach and to share it with you and our community!
